One of the reasons I left Michigan and my loving family was being sure that if I had to endure one more Michigan winter my head would spin around like Linda Blair's. Now I go back to Michigan once per winter to frolic in the snow and remind myself what a good decision moving to NC was.
Imagine my surprise on going to sleep in DC on Friday night, and waking up in northern Michigan on Saturday morning. While in most of Michigan a "light dusting" of 16 inches of snow is normal, here in your nation's capital it's a big deal and only 36 hours later are the main streets visible. The fact that I live a few minutes' walk from the White house puts us in some higher priority position, but it's still going to be April before some of these people get their cars out.
There are lots more snow in DC photos at the flicker site here.
